Good question. Lots of reasons…
- To help someone less fortunate.
- To help raise awareness of worthy causes around the world.
- To help raise awareness of people and places around the world.
- Give back to the somewhere or someone that touched you.
What should I donate?
Anything you like, a photo, a blog, a poem, a quote, a song…if it’s in the Backpacker Love spirit we will accept it with open arms.
Where does the money raised go?
At the moment we are saving all funds to donate to causes nominated and voted on by Backpacker Love members and supporters. 100% of profits goes to charity.
Do I get paid to contribute?
All contributions are donations. Instead of paying contributors funds raised will be used to fight poverty.
What size does the photo need to be?
At least 1000 pixels wide (at any height) or about 2-4 megabites.
Do I need a model release?
You don’t need a release to take or donate photographs.
What is a model release?
A model release is a legal document where the subject of a photograph grants permission to publish a photograph in a certain way.
When would a model release be required?
Only the publisher requires the release not the photographer. A photograph used for an advertisement, promotion or statement where a person is portrayed as an advocate of a product, service or idea, may be an example of where a release would be required. If you are in any doubt as to whether you require a model release please contact a lawyer.
Does Backpacker Love need a model release?
As a general rule “Art” in any form can be printed without a release, regardless of the medium in which it is printed. Posting an image or making one available for sale (even via a website) does not require a release.
How many photos can I contribute?
Pick your one or two favourite photos and submit those. If you can’t decide make it three or four.
What happens to the photo after I submit it?
Photos won’t show up on the website immediately. Backpacker Love staff will screen the shots and add them where appropriate.
